RE: Affirmation Specialist Euricka Alugas speaking at the NOIM Mental Health Conference

V2V_flyer_NOIM_ConferenceNew Testament Outreach International Ministries (NOIM), a non-profit organization, is conducting a one of a kind Mental Health Conference focused on “Bridging the Gap” with mental health patients, communities and faith organizations. The objective of the event is to destroy barriers of communication surrounding the topic of mental illness through education about prevention, intervention, crisis and rehabilitation methods for those with mental illnesses, their families, communities and faith organizations. NOIM has compiled a group of key Mental Health experts to speak and the conference, including Vision 2 Victory founder and Affirmation Specialist Euricka Alugas.

An Affirmation by definition is a declaration of creating a positive statement that is declared to be true. It is within your word and your conscious thought that your God-given power is formed. Before you can see the visible, you must first speak it from inwardly. When you affirm and declare or assert that something exists in the present this is your declaration of creation, this is you telling God that you believe that it is true, it is factual, it is right, it is the truth. As an Affirmation Specialist, mental illness is viewed as the beginning of the distortion of the thinking process. The thinking process is the basic element of the human existence. If you allow the distortion to go uncontrolled, you begin to experience abnormalities of behavior that is often exhibited by mentally ill patients. Untreated mental illness is a major issue in our society. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, in 2014 “there were an estimated 43.6 million adults aged 18 or older in the U.S. identified as having a mental illness,” this number represents 18.1% of all U.S. adults.

The conference is set to take place on March 18th, 2016 from 9 am to 3 pm at United Way of Greater Houston, located at 50 Waugh Drive Houston, TX 77007; tickets can be purchased at www.thenoim.org. Come out and hear Affirmation Specialist Euricka Alugas share some powerful coping tools for dealing with mental illness.
